Health officials on Sunday denied reports that certain COVID-19 positive patients in the towns of Sofronio Española and Coron have already recovered from the highly infectious disease.

Dr. Allan Guintapan, Coron municipal health officer (MHO), told Palawan News that the three COVID-19 positive patients in Coron town have not been declared as recovered.

“Wala pa, lumabas kasi ang result [nila] June 7 so after 14 days that [is] July 1. So instead of July 1, in-extend namin hanggang 21 days upon arrival nila so July 4, so by July 5 pa kami mag-sabi kung recovered o hindi. Panigurado lang, wala naman mawawala sa atin,” Guintapan said.

Dr. Rhodora Tingson, municipal health officer (MHO), also denied the reports that two COVID-19 positive patients in Sofronio Española have recovered from the new coronavirus and disease.

“Wala pa tayong ma-classify na recovered sa mga COVID-19 patients natin especially those first five. Still for rapid testing sila. Depende pa rin sa mga magiging result nila sa gagawin nating RDT sa kanila. Nasa isolation rooms pa rin sila ‘yong six COVID-19 patients natin,” Tingson told Palawan News.
