The southwest monsoon or habagat continues to bring moderate to heavy rain across parts of Luzon on Monday, including areas in the Ilocos Region and Cordillera Administrative Region, according to the state weather bureau.
Loriedin Dela Cruz-Galicia, weather specialist, said thick and convective clouds remain over Northern Luzon.
“Katamtaman hanggang sa malalakas na pag-ulan pa rin ang dulot at dala nito,” she said.
She added that there is no low pressure area or tropical cyclone inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
“At least in the next two to three days, wala tayong inaasahan, pero magtabi pa rin po tayo sa magiging updates ng PAGASA,” she said.
As of Monday, a weather advisory remains in effect over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, La Union, and Benguet. Up to 100 millimeters of rainfall is possible within a 24-hour period in those areas.
For the rest of Luzon, including Central Luzon and parts of Metro Manila, overcast skies and occasional light to moderate rain may be expected. In Southern Luzon, particularly in the Bicol Region, Calabarzon, and Mimaropa, isolated thunderstorms are likely in the afternoon or evening.
Visayas and Mindanao will continue to experience generally fair weather, with isolated rain showers possible due to localized thunderstorms.
