Good weather can be expected this week in the seaboard of Palawan, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
Sonny Pajarilla, local PAGASA chief, said that unlike the weather condition last week, fine weather will be observed due to the absence of southwest monsoon enhancement.
“Puwede maglayag ang ating mga mangingisda maging ang mga bangkero so that is good news para sa ating mga island hoppers. Within this week ay wala tayong inaasahan na disruptions ng mga tour, inter-island o island hoppings natin dahil wala tayong tinitignan na system na mag-i-enhance ng habagat,” Pajarilla said.
However, Pajarilla said there are also chances where thunderstorms can happen during the afternoons.
Pajarilla added that there will be no weather system that may develop within the week but a low-pressure area (LPA) might be expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) next week.
“Although ngayong linggo wala tayong ini-expect na low-pressure area, maaaring next week ay meron. So far we are looking at a 10-day forecast — beginning today ay wala pa tayo ini-expect na made-develop o papasok sa area of responsibility,” he said.
Two tropical depressions were experienced last week and based on the forecast of the weather bureau, there is an estimated number of two to three storms to develop in July, he also said.
Chances of rain may happen on Wednesday due to the convergence of clouds in the Sulu area that will move to Palawan which may cause thunderstorms, Pajarilla said.
