An ex-convict released from the Puerto Princesa City Jail (PPCJ) in June this year because of good conduct time allowance (GCTA) has been re-arrested in Barangay Bagong Silang for suspected shabu peddling.

The city police’s drug enforcement unit identified him as Ryan Reyes, alias “Regine”, 34.

He was arrested Monday afternoon, almost two years after he was released for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

The city police said their undercover agent was able to buy a sachet of shabu from Reyes using P1,100 marked money.

A former agent of the Anti-Crime Task Force (ACTF) of the city government was also arrested in a follow-up operation in the same barangay.

He was identified as Joseph Bryan Logronio, alias “JB”. Confiscated from his possession were the sachet of shabu and the buy-bust money amounting to P1,100.

The city drug enforcement unit said information about his drug dealings were discovered from Reyes’ cellular phone when it was inspected.

Logronio was previously dismissed from ACTF work after he turned positive for drugs.
