All commercial sea vessels and tourist boats travelling from Coron to El Nido are cancelled due to the gale warning issued by Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday.
In an advisory posted online by Coast Guard Station Coron in accordance to Headquarters PCG memorandum circular 03-01, all fast crafts, tourists boats and fishing vessels bound from Coron to El Nido, Coron to San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, Coron to Malcapuya and Coron to Pass Island are cancelled due to the bad weather.
“Please advise that the following trips are cancelled due to gale warning issued by PAGASA. Resumption of trips will depend on the weather bulletin issued by them,” advisory said.
PAGASA severe weather bulletin issued 11 a.m. on Wednesday said that between today and Thursday morning, Tropical Storm Quiel and the Tail-End of a Cold Front will bring light to moderate with occasional heavy rains over Babuyan Islands, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, Antique, and portions of Palawan (Cuyo Islands and Kalayaan Islands).
Light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains will be experienced over Batanes, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, Aklan, Iloilo, Oriental Mindoro, and the rest of Cagayan and Palawan including Calamian Islands.
Sea travel is risky, especially for small sea vessels, over the northern and western seaboards of Luzon due to potentially rough sea conditions.
