A man who borrowed a lighter from his sleeping friend sustained four stab wounds on the night of August 22 in Purok Pagkakaisa, Brgy. Sta. Monica, Puerto Princesa City.
The victim was identified as Jazer Iglesia Ebardulaza, while the suspect is his friend, Sonny Rebotazo Magundacan.
A witness told the police that they were all sleeping together when the witness was suddenly awakened by the commotion.
Ebardulaza stated that he woke up the Magundacan to borrow his lighter.

The suspect refused, but when the victim persisted, the suspect became enraged. He then took a knife from his bag and stabbed the victim.
