The Provincial Board (PB) has passed a measure urging the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) to put up a floating dock in Culion.
Authored by board member David Francis Ponce de Leon, the measure wants to put up the facility in Baranngays Balala, Libis, and Osmena.
Ponce de Leon said the request is in line with the plans and projects of the agency to build facilities in other tourist destinations.
“Floating docks will assist travelers looking for a memorable place such as Culion Museum and Archives that provides a glimpse of the painful yet hopeful history of the island and its people,” Ponce de Leon said.
TIEZA is an agency that is mandated to designate, regulate and supervise the established Tourism Enterprise Zones (TEZs), as well as develop, manage, and supervise tourism infrastructure projects in the country.
