Floating bookfair Doulos Hope to reopen August 1 in city port

Yes, it is official. After a successful run from September to October last year, the international floating bookfair Doulos Hope will be back in Puerto Princesa City in August.

The floating bookfair will open to the public from August 1 to 17 at the Puerto Princesa Port, based on its Saturday announcement.

Opening days and hours will be Tuesday through Sunday from 1:30 to 9 p.m., with the final entrance at 8:30 p.m.

Visitors will be able to choose from a selection of over 2,000 books with a variety of titles at rates that are easy on the wallet, according to Doulos Hope in the Philippines.

These books encompass a diverse array of topics, featuring science, medicine, arts, languages, faith, hobbies, cooking, and sports.

The ship said going to the bookfair has something for everyone in the family, with a great selection of children’s books, academic books, dictionaries, atlases, and more.

Doulos Hope reminded that children need their own tickets and need to be accompanied by an adult. Seniors over 65 and children under six enter free of charge, although they still need to reserve a ticket.

The admission charge for everyone else is ₱50 (cash only), and it will be paid at the bookfair gate.

Doulos Hope, a nonprofit organization, conducts country visits driven by its commitment to making educational and inspirational materials accessible to individuals.

Through its outreach initiatives and onboard events, the ship also provides a forum for community involvement and cultural interaction.
