A fisherman was hacked to death along the national road in Barangay 4, Roxas on Sunday.

Police operatives identified the victim as Reynaldo Latosa Haro, 33, a fisherman, and a resident of Purok Mangingisda, Barangay 4.

The suspects were identified as Allan Ignacio Malones, 48, barangay tanod, and Edgardo Papa Libot, 45, both from the same barangay.

According to the information disclosed by P/Capt. Ric Ramos, spokesperson of the Palawan Provincial Police Office (PPPO), the victim was hacked after accompanying a relative to a sing-along bar for a drinking session.

During the drinking session, the victim and the suspects got into a heated argument. The suspects threatened to kill Haro.

Around 4 A.M., the victim left the bar. However, his motorcycle ran out of gasoline on the national highway, forcing him to stop and just push it.

The suspects riding a motorcycle being driven by Libot blocked him, Malones got off the motorcycle and suddenly hacked the victim’s head and fled, leaving the victim on the road.

Haro was found by a concerned citizen who reported the incident to authorities.

The suspects were identified when police authorities were able to retrieve a collection of footage from a CCTV near the area.
