A fire gutted two boarding houses Thursday evening along BM Road in Barangay San Manuel.
Emman Imor, one of the boarders, told Palawan News the fire broke out around 6:30 p.m. following the return of electricity supply in the area.
“Kasi mag-hapon ditong brownout. Bandang 6:30 p.m., nag-open ‘yong ilaw. Pagkabukas biglang may pumutok kasi may extension dyan,” he said.
The two boarding houses were owned by Maria Fe Palanca, who is also the relative of the two families occupying a portion of the boarding houses.
Imor said they were left with nothing by the fire. All their belongings and important documents were burned by the fire that lasted around 30 minutes.
Personnel of the city Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) who were still in the site said they are still probing the cause of the fire that was declared “fire out” around 7 p.m.
