Fire hit El Nido town Sunday morning, destroying 10 structures in Barangay Masagana.

El Nido fire investigator John Mark Babas said the fire started from a dry goods store at about 6 a.m.

Hit by the fire were two booking offices, three houses, two dry goods stores, an eatery named Kusina Ni Nanay, OMP Hostel and Burger House.

“Sa ngayon ay ongoing ang progress ng investigation. Pero ang tinitingnan doon ay electrical wirings,” he said.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) has estimated the damages to be around P1 million.

The fire was placed under control at around 9 a.m. without any reported injury and casualty.

“Walang injured or casualty then ang damage ay P1M pero estimated pa ’yan, posibleng madagdagan,” he added.

Reaponding fire units came from BFP El Nido, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO), Municipal Police Station (MPS), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Joint Task Force Malampaya El Nido,  Ayala Group, El Nido Resorts and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO).
