Provincial legislators have recognized the accomplishments of the late Fe Tria Fernandez, an advocate for Cuyuno Cultural Preservation and Promotion.

Board Member Eduardo Modesto Rodriguez said Tuesday that Fernandez is a well-known Cuyunon folk songwriter and a music wizard who passed away on the morning of November 12.

He said that she also became a writer of the Chronology of Palawan History, Traslacion, and one of the composers of Palawan March.

“As we all know Manang Fe Tria Fernandez was an icon for instilling Cuyunon culture,” Rodriguez said.

The provincial board passed two different resolutions — expressing condolences to the family and giving recognition to the late Cuyunon advocate.

Her remains will be brought to the Puerto Princesa Memorial Park on November 17 after a 2 p.m. mass at Sta. Monica Church.
