NARRA, Palawan — Over 10,000 families here that were not included in the list of recipients of the different national subsidy programs will receive 2 sacks of rice and dressed chicken from the municipal government.

Mayor Gerandy Danao told Palawan News the beneficiaries are those who did not receive financial subsidies from either the Social Amelioration Program (SAP), SURE Aid or Survival and Recovery Program, Financial Subsidy to Rice Farmers (FSRF).

Danao said the rice sacks will be given along with the second wave of food packs that will be distributed.

He also said that the families will not only receive sacks of rice, but also one whole dressed chicken bought by the government for P60 per kilo.

The fund for distribution was from the Bayanihan grant from the national government amounting to P27,117,640 and P20,431,385 from the 20% Development Fund supposedly for road rehabilitation but was realigned to food assistance and for the isolation building.

In addition, Danao is requesting the residents of Narra to bear with them as they are still completing the deliveries of the rice.
