Palawan will experience mostly fair skies on Thursday, September 4, but residents should expect hot and humid conditions by midday, followed by a high chance of localized thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
“Sa Palawan, Visayas, at Mindanao, maaliwalas na panahon ang kanilang aasahan pero aasahan din natin yung init at alinsangan, lalo na sa tanghali hanggang hapon na may mataas na chance ng mga localized thunderstorm pagdating sa hapon at sa gabi,” forecaster Chenel Dominguez reported.
In Puerto Princesa, temperatures will range between 25 and 31 degrees Celsius. The same weather pattern is expected across the province, with clear mornings giving way to isolated heavy rain later in the day.
No gale warnings have been raised, keeping seas generally safe for fishing and other coastal activities.
Dominguez said the southwest monsoon, or habagat, remains the prevailing system across the country.
Northern Luzon, including Batanes, Cagayan, the Ilocos Region, and the Cordillera Administrative Region, will continue to see rains due to habagat.
In Central Luzon, Zambales and Bataan will have scattered rains, while Metro Manila will be cloudy with isolated showers and a greater chance of downpours by afternoon or evening.
The rest of the Visayas will also have warm weather turning into localized rainshowers. Iloilo is forecast at 24 to 31 degrees Celsius, Tacloban at 26 to 31 degrees Celsius, and Cebu at 25 to 31 degrees Celsius. Mindanao cities will experience the same pattern: Cagayan de Oro and Davao at 24 to 32 degrees Celsius, and Zamboanga at 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
“Ugaliin po natin magdala ng payong, pananggal lang sa init at pati rin sa mga pagulan,” Dominguez reminded the public.
