The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that Palawan and its surrounding areas could experience pleasant weather during the day, with the possibility of scattered rains in the late afternoon and early evening due to localized thunderstorms.
Kalayaan Islands and Puerto Princesa City will expect temperatures of 25–32 degrees Celsius.
“Para naman dito sami Palawan at nalalabing bahagi ng Visayas, inaasahan natin makakaranas naman sila ng maaliwalas na panahon, pero may mataas na chance na mga localized thunderstorm pagdating sa hapon at sa gabi,” reported PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Dominguez on Wednesday.
While Palawan is expected to have generally clear skies, the rest of the country will experience various weather conditions due to the persistent northeast monsoon (amihan), easterlies, and a shearline.
The northeast monsoon continues to hit Luzon, bringing gloomy skies and scattered rain to places like Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon should anticipate partly overcast to cloudy sky with occasional light rain.
The shearline in the Visayas, resulting from the convergence of the cold northeast monsoon and the warm easterlies, will provide moderate to heavy rainfall throughout Eastern and Central Visayas, including Dinagat Islands.
Meanwhile, Mindanao will have overcast conditions accompanied by sporadic rain showers and thunderstorms as a result of the easterly winds.
PAGASA has issued a gale warning for the coastal waters of Batanes, Cagayan (including Babuyan Islands), Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Aurora, and northern Quezon (including Polillo Islands), recommending small vessels to refrain from going out due to turbulent waves.
