SOFRONIO ESPAÑOLA, Palawan — This town’s municipal council passed early this week a resolution calling for the implementation of the national government’s directive increasing the salaries of job order (JO) and contract of service (contractuals) workers in government.

The resolution, according to Council members, were requested by Mayor Marsito Acoy as needed to pave way for its implementation.

Under Joint Circular No. 1, s. 2017 of the Civil Service Commision, the salaries of JOs and contractuals in government will be increased by 20 percent.

“Natanggap natin ang communication ni Mayor Marsito C. Acoy requesting to adopt an ordinance regarding dito so pinagaralan natin. Based sa committee report natin at ito naman ay inaprobahan ng council, makikinabang dito yung mga job order natin at contract personnel natin para naman matangap nila yung salary base sa joint circular no.1 ng civil service commission natin,” Arsani told Palawan News this Monday.
