The recent elections in Puerto Princesa City and the municipalities of Palawan were peaceful and orderly, according to the assessment of the Puerto Princesa City Police Office (PPCPO) and the Palawan Police Provincial Office (PalPPO).
The city and provincial police both reported no incidents of election-related violence during the campaign period, on election day, and throughout the counting and proclamation of winning candidates.
PPCPO director Police Colonel Cornelio Tadena Jr. said the calm conduct of the 2025 National and Local Elections in the city was the result of early preparations and the cooperation of the public, who remained alert and vigilant to prevent any untoward incidents.
“The Puerto Princesa City Police Office extends its heartfelt gratitude and commendation to all personnel and stakeholders for their unwavering support, dedication, and professionalism in ensuring the peaceful, orderly, and credible conduct of the 2025 National and Local Elections held on May 12, where no election-related violent incidents were recorded before, during, or after the voting period across all 60 designated voting centers in the city’s 66 barangays,” said Tadena.
He also thanked their partners, including the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Coast Guard District Palawan (CGDPal), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Puerto Princesa, barangay officials, local government units, civil society organizations, volunteers, and others.
“As guardians of public trust, the Puerto Princesa City Police Office reaffirms its continued commitment to protect the sanctity of the ballot, safeguard democratic values, and serve the people with integrity and accountability,” he added.
Tadena said the peaceful outcome reflected the unity, discipline, and mutual respect of all sectors in achieving a free and fair election.
Similarly, PalPPO issued the same assessment regarding the overall conduct of the elections across the province.
Police Colonel Joel Casupanan, director of PalPPO, said no election-related incidents were recorded during the entire electoral process, aside from minor reports that were immediately addressed and did not affect the outcome of the polls.
“The proactive policing measures and the swift responses of the police personnel and other deputized agencies coupled with the community support, contributed to the success of the electoral process in the province of Palawan. With that, your police eco-warriors of Palawan PPO are beyond grateful. Maraming salamat po,” said Casupanan.
