A 71-year old woman was declared dead on arrival (DOA) at the Palawan Adventist Hospital (PAH) on Sunday night after she was hit by a Montero car along the national road in Barangay San Manuel.

A spot report from the Puerto Princesa City Police Office (PPCPO) Station 1 identified her as Lilian Gonzales, a resident of Pablico Road, Barangay Tiniguiban.

The driver of the car was identified as Gil Caliwag, 54, a resident of Barangay Sta. Monica.

The initial police investigation said Gonzales was hit by the Montero car while she was crossing the San Manuel national highway.

The car reportedly overtook a motorcycle when the accident happened.

Caliwag is now facing a case of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide.
