A 79-year-old grandmother was killed after she was struck by a motorcycle while crossing the road in Barangay Sandoval, Roxas town.

Benita de Jesus Raguin, a resident of Sitio Kaybulo in the same barangay, was identified in a report made by the Police Provincial Office (PPO) on Tuesday.

Raguin was killed on the national road at Purok 2 Proper in the afternoon of August 25 when she was struck by a Honda 125 motorcycle ridden by Ramil Guita Radam, 29, of Purok 5, Brgy. Tagumpay in Roxas.

She was rushed to the Roxas Medicare Hospital (RMH) by responding personnel of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of the town but was pronounced dead on arrival (DOA) by the attending doctor due to serious head injuries.

Radam was traveling from Brgy. Mendoza to Brgy. Tagumpay in Roxas when the accident occurred, according to the police investigation. When he arrived at the accident site, his motorcycle struck Raguin, who was reportedly crossing the road from the other side.

His two back riders also suffered injuries and were brought to the RMH.
