An elderly woman died after she was hit by a motorcycle while crossing the road on the evening of March 17 in Narra, Palawan.
The incident happened around 8:10 p.m. along the national highway in Barangay Malinao. The victim, identified by the alias “Weng,” 70, is a widow and resident of the area.
Police said the motorcycle, a black and gray Honda XRM, was driven by alias “Egay,” 24, a resident of Barangay Tagusao in Quezon, Palawan. He was traveling from south to north when the crash happened.
Initial investigation showed that the victim was crossing the road from the left side to the right when she was struck by the motorcycle.
The elderly woman suffered serious injuries in different parts of her body. The driver also sustained injuries.
Both were brought by responders from the Narra Emergency Response Unit and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to the Narra Municipal Hospital for treatment.
Authorities took the motorcycle to the Narra Municipal Police Station for proper disposition as the investigation continues.
