El Nido resident Edith Rodriguez got the chance to meet Ben Adams of the British-Norwegian boy band A1 in a neighborhood karaoke bar and sang the hit song “Like a Rose” with him.
Rodriguez posted a video of her singing with Adams on November 18 which immediately became viral.
To date, the video posted on Rodriguez’ account on Facebook already has over a million views, more than 9,000 likes, and 12,000 shares.

“Omg!!! Still can’t believe I had a duet with Ben of A1! It’s a dream come true! I’m still on cloud nine!” Rodriguez’ post caption said.
The proprietor of Nitibo Handicraft Manufacturing, Rodriguez said she has always been a fan of A1, which was formed in 1998.
A1 debuted with the hit single “Be the First to Believe”, which entered the UK Singles Chart at number six in mid-1999. The boy band was popular not only in the UK in the late 1990s and early 2000s but also in Southeast Asia.
“Thank you @benadamsuk for stopping by and for a quick song for us and a duet! I’ve always been a fan of A1 and especially you!” Rodriguez said.
Adams also tweeted about his karaoke duet experience on his Twitter account
Adams was in El Nido with girlfriend London model Sara Skjoldnes to celebrate his 38th birthday.
