Suspects Gerald Acaso,38, a resident of Brgy. New Buncag, Puerto Princesa City; Jolito Acaso, 32, and Ricky Felipe, 47, a resident of Bucana, El Nido, who were arrested on June 5, 2019, for allegedly assaulting a barangay chairman and his tanod in El Nido.

Three men were arrested in El Nido on Wednesday for allegedly assaulting a barangay tanod and chairman in Sitio Calitang, Brgy. Bucana, El Nido.

A spot report released by the office of Police Regional Office (PRO) MIMAROPA spokesperson PCol. Socrates Faltado identified the suspects as Gerald Acaso,38, a resident of Brgy. New Buncag, Puerto Princesa City; Jolito Acaso, 32, and Ricky Felipe, 47, a resident of Bucana, El Nido.

They were arrested around 10 a.m. for reportedly assaulting Bryan Dawa, 35, a tanod (security), and barangay chairman Aracel Bacolod, 55, who are residents of Bucana.

The report said that around 3:45 p.m. on June 5, Bacolod went to the El Nido Municipal Police Station (MPS) to complain that the suspects punched and kicked him when he summoned a certain Gerald Acaso for damaging the side mirror of his black Toyota Rush car.

Aracel told the initial police investigation that he suffered abrasions and swelling from the incident.

Dawa, on the other hand, was hit on his jaw, causing it to swell.

The three suspects are now under the custody of the El Nido MPS.
