The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Palawan conducted an entrepreneurial training and Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) orientation for 70 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Puerto Princesa City on March 26, 2026.
Participants, including vendors and entrepreneurs from the Old Public Market in Barangay Bagong Sikat and Barangay San Jose, attended the session aimed at strengthening business skills and improving enterprise operations.
The activity was led by Ara Rochelle S. Ramos, trade and industry development specialist, with Negosyo Business Counselor Leander Sangalang Jr., and attended by Amy Abrio, LGU focal person for the Negosyo Center.
DTI said the training covered financial management, product quality improvement, business planning, and proper recordkeeping, alongside MSME profiling and business development support.
Participants were also oriented on the Barangay Micro Business Enterprise Program (BMBE), which offers incentives such as tax exemptions and access to financing for qualified small businesses.
The initiative was conducted in partnership with the Puerto Princesa City government and market officials as part of efforts to strengthen local enterprises and expand livelihood opportunities.
