The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Palawan, in partnership with Equilibrium Intertrade Corporation-Palawan Branch and Curve Coffee Collaborators, hosted a Coffee Appreciation and Farm Visit on Friday at the Negosyo Center-Puerto Princesa City to promote the province’s growing coffee industry.
The activity gathered coffee stakeholders including micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), farmers, and the DTI Palawan Business Development Team to strengthen understanding of the coffee value chain and foster collaboration between the public and private sectors in advancing Palawan’s coffee industry.
A cupping session led by Cora Jean Talisic and Rey Gilongos of Equilibrium Palawan and Curve Coffee highlighted the event, allowing participants to taste and evaluate different coffee profiles based on quality, flavor notes, and processing techniques.
Participants also joined an experiential learning activity at The Curve Coffee Farm in Barangay Bacungan, where they observed and took part in harvesting ripe coffee cherries and processing beans, gaining firsthand experience of the intricate process behind Palawan’s local brew.
DTI Palawan Officer-in-Charge Provincial Director Emma Concepcion Quillope, who graced the event, reaffirmed the agency’s support for initiatives that strengthen the coffee value chain and build collaboration among local producers.
She said DTI remains committed to championing Palawan’s coffee industry and empowering stakeholders to elevate the quality and market presence of local coffee.
