The Department of Public Works and Highways has completed a preventive maintenance project along an important section of the south road in Barangay Tiniguiban in Puerto Princesa City to address pavement deterioration and improve road safety.
DPWH MIMAROPA said that the project will not only prevent further road damage but will also improve public safety, support economic activity by ensuring smooth transport, extend the infrastructure life span, and enhances daily travel for around 14,000 road users annually.
3rd District Engineering Office chief Amelia Fajardo reported to the DPWH regional office that the project entailed the removal and replacement of damaged road segments, which had potholes, minor settlement, raveling, and uneven surfaces due to aging.
“The improved road network along Puerto Princesa South Road brings safety and convenience to the traveling public and over 14,000 road users annually, thereby promoting economic advantages and opportunities,” DPWH MIMAROPA stated.
