ODIONGAN, Romblon, Sept. 14 — The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) launched its 75th Tech4ED Center, located at Romblon State University (RSU) Main Campus.
According to Engr. Racquiel Aguba, Provincial Officer of Romblon for DICT, the new Tech4Ed Center housed in the Institute of Information Technology (IIT) Building, will help not only the students, but also the faculties who want to further improve their ICT skills.
“This Tech4ED Center will provide students and teachers access to information, communication, technology, government services, non-formal education, skills training, telehealth, job markets, and business portals,” Engr. Aguba said in an interview with PIA-Romblon.
“You are now ready to serve the community and bridge the Digital Divide. We are now looking forward to the success of your center,” he added.
The Tech4ED Project of the DICT technically means ‘Technology for Education to gain Employment, train Entrepreneurs towards Economic development.’
The launching was witnessed by the VP for Research and Extension, Dr. Arthur Ylagan; Director of IIT, Engr. Julie F. Fallaria; Chairman of BSIT, Prof. Sarah Jane F. Fallaria; DICT-Luzon Cluster 3 Technical Operations Division Head, Engr. Bassanio Torio; and Engr. Racquiel Aguba.
Engr. Aguba added that before the month of September ends, they will also launch the another Tech4ED Center in Looc, Romblon. (PJF/PIA-MIMAROPA/Romblon)
