The Department of Education (DepEd) stated that the work and classes in all the offices of the agency and public schools will be suspended on September 23 at 03:00 in the afternoon in the celebration of National Family Week.

In a statement forwarded by provincial DepEd spokesperson Grace Estefano on Monday, the suspension was urged by the National Committee on Filipino Family (NCFF) and the Office of the President to encourage employees and learners to spend mealtime with their families.

“The celebration aims to strengthen the Filipino family unity and relationship through meaningful celebration and promotion of Filipino values,” as stated.

In promotion of public awareness in the observance of the celebration and its opening day, all DepEd offices and public schools were instructed to ring the bells at 12:00 noon.

It will symbolizes the nationwide awareness and commitment to commemorate the solidarity and unity of the Filipino family.

The 27th National Family Week has Celebration with the theme “Tungo sa Maginhawa, Matatag, at panatag na Pamilyang Pilipino” will end on September 28.

This is stated as pursuant to the Proclamation No. 60, s. 1992 entitled Declaring the Last Week of September of Every Year as Family Week and Civil Service Commission (CSC) announcement no. 53, s. 2019.
