Schools in Palawan are all ready for the first day of classes on Monday, the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division said.

Grace Estefano, DepEd information officer, said Sunday that all schools under their division are ready to accommodate the influx of students.

“We are ready and anticipating the influx of students. We know iyong iba hindi pa nakakapag-enroll especially ‘yong nagtra-transfer, but we are ready and will be accommodating all their needs during the opening of classes,” Estefano said.

Records of the provincial DepEd shows there are 639 schools in the elementary level, 169 schools in the junior high, and 81 in senior high schools.

However, Estefano said she has no data yet on the actual number of enrollees for each level because the teams they deployed to the field have not yet submitted their reports.

“We expect there will still be enrollees even if classes have started already,” she said.
