A man whom passersby thought was just fixing his motorcycle because he was crouching along the road was discovered dead on Sunday in Sitio Canatgan, Barangay Alimanguan, San Vicente municipality.
The body was identified as Nestor Grego, 52, a laborer of Newington Construction and resident of Purok 2, Barangay Alimanguan, San Vicente.
According to a police report, Grego’s lifeless body was reported by the village chief of Alimanguan to the San Vicente Municipal Police Station (MPS) at 7:30 a.m. on May 5.
The village chief reported about Grego whom they believed to be dead beside his motorcycle parked along the national highway.
Based on the result of the post mortem examination, Grego suffered a stroke which resulted in his death.
Maruj Encoy, on her Facebook post, said they thought Grego was just fixing his motorcycle. Residents only discovered that he was already dead the next day.
“Nadaanan po namin sa Barangay Alimanguan, San Vicente. Kagabi pa daw po ito nasa ganyang kalagayan, kaso akala lang ng mga dumadaan ay nag-aayos lang ng motor nya. 7 am na sya natuklasang walang buhay habang nakayuko at nakakapit pa sa may kadena ng motor. Chineck siguro nya yung dala nyang motor may problema sa sprocket at maaring sinumpong ng high blood,” Encoy said.
