The Department of Agrarian Reform Palawan on Jan. 13 turned over modern farm machinery to five Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations as part of a government program to improve farm productivity and promote sustainable agriculture.
The activity, held at the DAR Palawan Provincial Office Skylight Convention Center, included the inspection, demonstration and formal turnover of eight hand tractors with complete implements and trailers under the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development and Sustainability Program funded by the Agrarian Reform Fund.
DAR Palawan said the equipment targets ARBOs with limited access to mechanized farming and is intended to support land preparation, hauling and other critical farm operations.
Before the turnover, the agency conducted an inspection to ensure the machinery was complete, functional and compliant with technical specifications. This was followed by an actual demonstration, where ARBO representatives were trained on proper operation, safety and maintenance to ensure efficient and long term use of the equipment.
The process was supervised by DAR Palawan, with technical guidance from the supplier. The agency also briefed beneficiaries on the provisions of the Trust Agreement and their responsibilities as custodians of the equipment.
DAR Palawan said the activity reflects the agency’s commitment to transparency, accountability and quality public service, while strengthening ARBOs as productive and competitive rural enterprises capable of increasing yields, reducing costs and improving income for agrarian reform beneficiaries.
The turnover forms part of broader efforts to modernize agriculture and support inclusive rural development in Palawan.
