The City Traffic Management Office (CTO) advised the public to be aware of the traffic rerouting plan in line with the Balayong Tree Nurturing Festival on Saturday.
In a video posted on City Mayor’s Office (CMO) official Facebook page, CTMO chief Engr. Jonathan Magay said they will utilize the Palawan State University (PSU) Road as a drop off point for the participants.
“Lahat ng maghahatid ng partisipante sa ating Balayong tree planting ay iikot po ‘yon at babalik, at doon na lang sila sa labas magpa-park,” Magay said.
The drop off area will be at the Rotonda along PSU Road because the street from the Department of Education (DepEd) to the ark near will remain closed during the activity.
Magay said the public that will come from the City Hall area is advised to walk going to the RVM Sports Complex and park their vehicles only at the designated areas near the Old City Hall Building.
He added that they are also considering the setting of two roads in Brgy. Sta. Monica as one-way routes — the one near the DWMR Radyo Pilipinas station building and the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO).
“Kung magkasikipan ng daan, ‘yong labasan natin pauwi, ‘yong DWMR maaring maging one way, at ‘yong sa unahan sa may CENRO na tayo magpapalabas, malapit lang naman ‘yon. So iyon ang magiging daloy ng trapiko dito sa ating Balayong Tree Planting,” he said.
Magay said traffic enforcers will be deployed in different areas to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
