Crime incidents reported throughout the MIMAROPA region decreased by around 40 percent since the start of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), police statistics show.
The Philippine National Police regional office noted there were only eight crimes recorded between March 17 to 22 such as murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, and carnapping.
Some 25 persons were arrested for various offenses from March 16 to 22.
The numbers were in comparison to crimes reported during the same period last year. (with reports from Aira Genesa Magdayao)
