Covered courts rise in southern Palawan villages

2nd Palawan District House Rep. Frederick Abueg (3rd from left) cuts the ribbon with Sofronio Española Mayor Marsito Acoy (6th from right, holding scissor) during the inauguration of the covered court in Barangay Pulot Shore on February 15, 2019. Also in photo are his chief of staff Atty. Cyrille Abueg (4th from left) and his father, former House deputy speaker Alfredo Abueg (7th from right, partially hidden behind Acoy).

Residents of Barangay Quinlogan, Quezon municipality, will now have a venue for community activities with the construction of a covered court courtesy of Rep. Frederick Abueg of the 2nd Palawan District.

Abueg led the groundbreaking ceremony of the covered court in February.

His chief of staff Atty. Cyrille Abueg said in an interview that the covered court will serve as the venue for sports fests, seminars, and other events

“Hindi naiiwasang mabasa ang ating mga kababayan sa tuwing may mga pagdaraos na ginaganap sa Barangay Quinlogan, Quezon. Kung kaya naisip natin na malaking tulong sa ating mga kababayan ang pagkakaroon ng covered court dito,” she said.

On February 15, Abueg’s staff and family also inaugurated the covered court in Pulot Shore, Sofronio Española.

On the same day, it was also followed by another inauguration of one classroom school building in Barangay Teresa, Narra.

Former House deputy speaker Alfredo Abueg and Dra. Nellie Abueg served as the guests of honor.

She added that the covered courts will protect the residents from different weather conditions.

“Hindi maitago ang tuwa ng ating mga kababayan, lalo na ng mga kabataan dahil gusto na nilang magamit ang covered court para pagdausan ng mga liga ng basketball, seminars at iba’t ibang events,” she added
