The number of COVID-19 positive patients in Occidental Mindoro continues to rise, bringing the province’s record to 39.

The provincial government of Occidental Mindoro on Monday morning announced two more COVID-19 patients, both female frontliners from Calintaan town who have no travel history.

“Case 38 is 28 years old and Case 39 is 26 years old, who underwent real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) on May 28,” the statement said.

The two additional patients remained asymptomatic and were placed in isolation for strict monitoring.

Occidental Mindoro currently has 31 active cases, seven recoveries, and one death.

In Palawan, one suspect COVID-19 patient death was recorded on Sunday by the Center for Health Development (CHD-MIMAROPA). The total number of COVID-related casualties now stands at 41 in this island province.

Palawan province is monitoring 14 COVID-19 patients, 12 of whom are under suspect category and two have been tagged as probable cases, as of 3 p.m., Sunday (May 31).
