A 45-man commercial fishing vessel was apprehended Thursday by authorities for illegally operating inside the municipal waters of Quezon.

Palawan Provincial Police Office (PPO) spokesperson P/Capt. Ric Ramos identified the commercial fishing vessel as FBCA Mega RDA 2 owned by Roselyn and Rose Ann Asumbrado of Matabungkay Lian, Batangas.

It was skippered by Edgardo Alegre with crew identified as Toniche Cañete Carabaña, Vergilio Ebanada Salazar, Eddie Lavezores, Eleazar Villamor Monterde, Jose Alcala Abong, Reagan Causapin Villegas, Tan Abong Ela, Ronnie Beltran Flor, Jhon Michael Catapang Egua, Victorio Laborte Jr, Zaldy Abong Pelagio, Ronald Canoy Alo, Ronaldo Apostol Albanio, Rico Ompad Gacay, Mario Maroon Casanova, Romar Pacheco Panggo, Jermin Aragon Aranez, Mateo Francisco Dela Cruz, Arthur Tayactac Malobo, Marvin Arcilla Rotsa, Jeffrey Panggo Pacheco, Jayson Panggo Pacheco, Jayson Gawad Rosenas, Eduard Sisniro Aplacador Jr, Carlo Flor Corot, Gomer Bayan Codizal, Dominador Bayan Cudezal Jr, Ronnie Boy Gabilo De Padua, Edgar Berdeda Andales, Jomarie Igoy Daño, Marty Deboda Alcantara, Efren Maravilla Nuñez, Cris Villato Niez, Apolinario Abellara Sumaguid, Randy Hecita Serafino, Rodrigo Conchita Sobremonte, Ruel Reyes Tiangco, Nonoy Uy Arbosa, Marjun Flor Corot, Antonio Gaylan Baes, Jhon Mark Hermina Rabosa, Jaymar Reyes Romar, Jayson Caderao Yongson, and Junel Galabay Dela Cruz — all from of Wawa Nasugbo, Batangas.

Ramos said the vessel was caught fishing some 10 kilometers from the shoreline of vicinity sea waters of Brgy. Calumpang, Quezon.

Fishing of commercial vessel within the municipal waters violates Article 105 Operating Commercial Fishing Vessel within Municipal Waters (Ordinance No. 203-17).

Confiscated from the fishermen are one (1) piece fish finder; Bertix Radio Communication device ; and Furono GPS with an estimated amount of P15,000.

He also disclosed that the apprehension was made by the joint seaborne and police operation of Quezon Municipal Police Station, personnel from the Department of Agriculture (D.A.) and Bantay Quezon.

All fishing paraphernalia were brought to the Municipal Police Station.
