Coast Guard suspends sea travel due to ‘Quiel’

Lieutenant Commander Christian Jazmin, CGDP spokesperson, said the no sailing policy was based on the gale warning issued on Monday, November 4.

The Coast Guard District Palawan (CGDP) has ordered the suspension on Wednesday of sea travels in the whole province due to tropical storm “Quiel”.

Lieutenant Commander Christian Jazmin, CGDP spokesperson, said the no sailing policy was based on the gale warning issued on Monday, November 4.

It covers all types of vessels and other watercraft in the province. Jazmin said sea travels at Sitio Sabang, Barangay Cabayugan and Honda Bay in Brgy. Sta. Lourdes, Puerto Princesa City, El Nido, Coron, Brooke’s Point, Cuyo and Roxas had already been suspended.

Jazmin said fishermen are also advised not to venture out into the sea for their safety.

He also said that in case of an emergency that boats should sail, the crew should ask the CGDP first about sea conditions.
