A cloud mass caused by an existing low-pressure area off Catanduanes province may develop into a tropical depression within two days, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Weather specialist Raymond Ordinario said the LPA was located at 1,060 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.

“Kaya kapag ito ay nabuo sa ating Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) ito ay papangalan natin na bagyong Hannah,” Ordinario said.

If the LPA develops into an LPA, it could be the first storm in month of August and the eight tropical depression in 2019.

Meanwhile, the state weather agency is monitoring two tropical storms outside the PAR.

However, PAGASA said these have no direct effect in the country.

Due to the southwest monsoon or Habagat prevailing over the country, the western side of Luzon including the region of MIMAROPA could experience rain showers.
