A multi-level parking building at the back of the City Coliseum is expected to alleviate traffic, especially on days when there are events.

The city government is proposing a multi-level steel parking structure to be situated behind the City Coliseum to aid the traffic situation in Puerto Princesa, mayor Lucilo Bayron said during the opening of the “Tourism Month 2019” on Wednesday.

Bayron said that there are already initial talks with some investors for the project.

“Para ma-solusyunan ang traffic, we will be putting up a multi-level parking building at the back of the city coliseum.

However, Bayron did not disclose other details, but assured the plan will be presented once finalized.

It can be recalled that there are many proposals and solutions being done to solve the traffic, including the traffic lights in Barangay San Pedro that gained different reactions from the public recently.

In 2017, the city council also proposed an ordinance directing business establishments and public or private offices to segregate parking areas of motorcycles and tricycles from four-wheeled vehicles all around Puerto Princesa.
