Inmates of the Puerto Princesa City Jail (PPCJ) recently donated some 130 facemasks to the Ospital ng Palawan (ONP) and the City Police Office as their assistance to frontliners in the fight against COVID-19.

“Tulong po natin ito sa kapwa natin frontliners. Kasi meron naman tayong manpower. Para hindi lang po PDL (persons deprived of liberty) lang ‘yong tumatanggap. Tumutulong din ‘yong mga PDL natin sa community, so through mask-making nga po,” J01 Filly Erika Argueza, community relations officer of PPCJ, said.

She said that around 15 inmates are currently involved in mask production, using the materials mostly donated by the jail personnel.

She added that prior to their latest donation, they already gave facemasks to other groups of frontliners and individuals.

She added that JO2 Marlito Anza, one of their jail officers, also donated face masks for frontliners and other jail facilities in the province.
