A week-long photo exhibit and painting display opened at the City Hall on Monday as part of the Balayong Festival in Puerto Princesa City.
Fe Bolen, wildlife enforcement officer of the City Environment and Natural Resources (ENRO) Wildlife Management Division (WMD), said the exhibit aims to celebrate the Balayong Festival through the arts until July 26.
This exhibit has the theme “Ekolohiya at Kahalagahan: Sining para sa Balayong, Partisipasyon ng mga Lokal na Pintor ng Puerto Princesa at Palawan” and opened on Monday and will be until Saturday, July 26.
Bolen said the paintings are from local artists namely Jonathan Benitez, Leonard Ansiong, and Elordie Mesac that captures the Balayong tree-planting activities in the last three years.
The Balayong Festival is celebrated annually every last Saturday of July.
Bolen said the exhibit portrays not only the celebration of the Balayong Festival but highlights the necessity of caring for the ecology.
