During a foot patrol and monitoring session last week in Barangay Montible, forest rangers of the planned Anepahan-Montible Critical Habitat recovered two chainsaws that had been left behind.
Personnel from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (City ENRO) found the chainsaws on January 30 while working in the Protected Area Management Services Division.
They were then promptly handed over to the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development Staff (PCSDS) at the Palawan Sustainable Development Training Institute in Barangay Irawan, Puerto Princesa City.
City ENRO emphasized that the confiscation highlights ongoing efforts to protect and conserve the forest areas of Palawan against illegal logging and other environmental threats.
“This shows the continuous effort of City ENRO in protecting and conserving the forest areas of Palawan,” City ENRO said.
