The City DepEd has declared it has completed its preparation to accommodate the delegates of Batang Pinoy Nationals 2019.
Division information officer Gina Francisco said that in terms of providing accommodation for the delegates, they are “more than 100% ready.”
“In terms of accommodation 100% ready, kung pwede nga 110% pagdating sa billeting venues. Pero baka biglang mag-brownout, mawalan ng supply ng water kasi hindi natin kontrolado. Ang alam ko may arrangement na din ang city government. Pero kung sa mga venues naman wala tayong problema kasi provided din naman pati beddings nila ng PSC,” she said.
In case of sudden blackouts, she said there are schools which have generator sets and some schools borrowed from their respective barangays.
Francisco said that out 16 selected billeting venues, 15 are already in use. The Sicsican Elementary School is still waiting for the delegates to arrive.
Aside from the venue provided by the City DepEd, the City Engineering Office provided temporary comfort rooms, shower rooms and mess halls for the delegates.
The city health also conducted misting in schools as preventive measure against dengue.
She added that some teachers will be on duty during the stay of the delegates and will be assisting them.
“Buong puso natin silang tinatanggap kasi alam natin na kung saan saan pa sila galing. Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao gusto rin sana namin pagdating nila sa mga schools natin maging komportable din sana sila. Kung ‘yong ano ano ang inalisan nila ganoon din sana ang madatnan nila. Kung may lapses, ‘di naman natin maiiwasan ‘yon basta we gave them the best,” she said.
