Police authorities are looking for a Finnish national and his Filipina girlfriend who were recently reported missing by one of their relatives.

Police Regional Office (PRO) MIMAROPA spokesperson P/Lt. Col. Socrates Faltado identified the missing persons as Editha Murata Omega, 32, a resident of Oyunga, Miag-ao, Iloilo, and Jukka Sumali Tikkanen, 42, a resident of Rauma, Finland.

Faltado said they were reported missing by Sara Omega Noveros, the sister of Editha, who personally went to the Puerto Princesa City Police Office (PPCPO) Station 1.

Noveros told the police her sister and Tikkanen arrived in Puerto Princesa City in March this year and that their last contact was in July.

Faltado said their initial investigation indicated that the couple traveled to the city via a Cebu Pacific flight in March and was assisted by a travel agency.

He added that the couple’s belongings were still uncollected at the inn where they had stayed.

The police also said that Tikkanen had booked a flight for Bangkok via Air Asia in August but did not board.

Follow-up investigation is still being conducted to find them.
