Residents of the Bahay Pag-asa Youth Center (BPYC) are turning their creativity into income this holiday season by making Christmas lanterns and decorations from indigenous and recycled materials.
The activity is part of BPYC’s Livelihood Services Program under the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) of Palawan.
The program teaches Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) practical livelihood skills, ensuring they have marketable abilities when they leave the center.
Lanterns are available for P110 (small), P150 (medium), and P220 (large). Buyers can visit BPYC in Barangay Irawan, Puerto Princesa City, or contact their official Facebook page, Bahay Pag-Asa Palawan, and Ms. Danlyn Atanacio-Gutierrez at 09088114941.
Established in 2016 under RA 9344, the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006, BPYC provides shelter and support for young Palawenos with legal issues. The center’s programs are a key part of Governor Amy Roa Alvarez’s PALAWAN+PLUS Development Agenda.
