Two newly-constructed barangay halls were turned over Saturday to officials of Barangays Malitub and Malihud, Bataraza, by the Coral Bay Nickel Corporation (CBNC) and Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTNMC) through their Social Development and Management Program (SDMP).
Laurence Amores, the CBNC’s community relations officer, thanked the residents for their cooperation in the realization of the project.
Simbil Adjimin, a community organizer of Malitub told Palawan News that the construction of the facility in their village is a good development because they can now do transactions in their village.
Monessa Kasim, RTNMC community organizer in Malihud, on the other hand, said that with the huge population of the barangay, their old hall is no longer enough to accommodate them because it was small and not made of concrete.
The construction of barangay hall in Malitub costs P400,000 while the improvement in Malihud costs P113,325.14 from the SDMP.
CBNC also donated 14 sets of office table with chairs in Malihud.
