The provincial government has distributed financial support to indigent elderly people and persons with disabilities (PWD) in the municipalities of Quezon and San Vicente in the latter week of July and the first week of August.
On August 4 to 6, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) provided financial assistance in various barangays of San Vicente, according to an issued press release of the Provincial Information Office (PIO).
A total of P262,500 were distributed to over 175 senior citizens who received P250 each month or P1,500 as their pension from June to December 2020.
An amount of P3,000 were also given to 38 PWDs covering the months of January to June 2020 and 39 PWDs for July to December.
In Quezon town, over 468 senior citizens also received their monthly pension for the period of January to July 2020 last July 28-31, while 35 PWDs received P6,000 each covering months of January to December 2020.
According to PSWDO chief Abigail Ablaña, the cash aid is a regular program of the provincial government through the Local Social Pension (LSP) program for indigent senior citizens and PWDs.
