A total of 292 graduating students of Western Philippines University–Aborlan Campus were oriented on labor market trends and in-demand jobs during a career fair organized by the provincial government through the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
The activity, held in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), other government agencies, and private companies, aimed to help students align their skills with current employment opportunities as they prepare to enter the workforce.
University officials, led by WPU President Dr. Amabel Liao, attended the event.
PESO Manager Richard Rebote discussed key topics including the Peso Act, the state of the labor market, emerging industries, and skills sought by employers.
“Layunin ng Career Fair ang mapalawak ang kaalaman ng mga magtatapos na estudyante hinggil sa labor market at matulungan silang matukoy ang mga angkop na trabaho batay sa kanilang kakayahan,” PESO said.
Organizers said the initiative is part of efforts to equip graduating students with practical knowledge and guidance as they transition from school to employment.
