The provincial government has formed a technical body that will draw up an economic recovery plan and policy directions for Palawan as the province emerges from the COVID-19 lockdown.
The body, called Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (DANA) body, was tasked to evaluate the impacts of the pandemic COVID-19 and evaluate its responses to the crisis as it ramps up socio-economic recovery plans for Palawan.
Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) chief and emergency operations center manager Jeremias Alili said DANA will be comprised of Capitol offices, two non-government organizations (NGOs), and the business and tourism sectors to help map up the details of the recovery plan.
The DANA team will include the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), Provincial Health Office (PHO), Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Provincial Economic Enterprise and Development Office (PEEDO), and Provincial Engineering Office (PEO).
Alili said that DANA team will play an important role in formulating the recovery plan for Palawan under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
Board Member Albert Rama said Thursday that they are also set to adopt the DANA for its appropriation.
He said that DANA will serve as the Technical Working Group (TWG) that will identify the specific effect of COVID-19 in different sectors.
“Dadaan pa sa provincial board ‘yan for adoption and appropriation. ‘Yan kasing DANA ay parang technical working group ng province para i-identify and mga sector na dapat bigyan ng assistance for economic recovery,” Rama said.
