Newly licensed doctors, medical technologists, and pharmacists under the provincial scholarship program underwent an orientation on the mandatory return-of-service requirement on May 19 at the Governor’s Conference Hall.
The activity aimed to clarify the duties and scope of obligations of the scholars under Palawan’s return-of-service program, which requires beneficiaries to serve in the province after completing their studies.
The provincial government said the orientation is part of efforts to ensure compliance while strengthening the province’s health workforce through sustained deployment of trained professionals in local health facilities.
Officials also assured continued support for the scholars’ professional development and public service engagement.
The session was led by Atty. Queen Harra Sheigila Pantanosas-Oraiz, representing Gov. Amy Alvarez, together with YAKAP sa Edukasyon Scholarship Program Manager Nur-Aina Ibrahim, Anna May Oclarit of the Hospital and Health Facility Development Division, and PHRMO Supervising Administrative Officer Leticia Liao.
