A 41-year-old woman was arrested on January 9 for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165 following a sting operation in Barangay Oring-Oring, Brooke’s Point, Palawan.
The operation was conducted at around 12:45 p.m. by joint personnel of the Palawan Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and Brooke’s Point Municipal Police Station (MPS), led by Police Maj. Dhayrius L. Redondo, officer-in-charge.
Authorities reported that Lorna and her husband, “Danilo,” transacted with a poseur buyer and sold two heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu.”
The sachets had a combined gross weight of 2.48 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱7,500.
While Lorna was arrested at the scene, Danilo managed to escape and remains at large. A hot pursuit operation has been launched to apprehend him.
The confiscated illegal drugs are now undergoing proper inventory and processing. Further investigation is ongoing.
